Real Estate Classification Primer
O. Introduction
As we set out in this most audacious and important project of building the Interstellar Commonwealth, establishing a network of habitable and functional properties across various environments becomes paramount.
The Spacers Guild has developed a comprehensive classification system for its real estate holdings, reflecting the diverse needs and challenges of both terrestrial and extraterrestrial settings.
1. Earth Properties
Citadels: The largest terrestrial properties, capable of safely housing 10,000 individuals, serve as major population centers and economic hubs within the Interstellar Commonwealth.
Guildhalls: Originally called Citadels, these large-scale complexes house up to 1,000 people and function as central hubs for guild operations, offering a wide range of amenities and services to members.
Enclaves: These larger protected nexus points will accommodate more than 500 individuals and be able to provide basic amenities and resources as needed for the organization’s activities.
Major Nodes: Known as Guildhalls until after the establishment of the first 10 Citadels, when they become Major Nodes. These community centers and properties can accommodate up to 100 individuals. They serve as regional hubs for the guild’s activities, meetings, and events.
Minor Nodes: These are the smallest of the guild’s properties on Earth or similar habitats, initially called Nodes and later specified as Minor Nodes after the establishment of the first 10 Citadels. Nodes provide space for 10 or more occupants, serving as local gathering points.
2. Space Habitats
Guild States: The largest and most complex space habitats, Guild States can accommodate over 100,000 people and function as self-governing entities within the Interstellar Commonwealth.
Guild Cities: These very large space settlements are designed for populations exceeding 10,000 and offer a wide range of services, infrastructure, and opportunities for residents.
Major Guildhabs: These expansive habitats house more than 1,000 individuals and serve as thriving centers of commerce, research, and cultural exchange within the Interstellar Commonwealth.
Minor Guildhabs: These larger space habitats accommodate more than 100 individuals and function as self-sufficient communities with basic amenities and resources.
Stations: These are the initial outposts in space, capable of housing more than 10 people and serving as research stations, waypoints, and temporary accommodations for travelers and explorers.
3. Extraterrestrial Real Estate
For extraterrestrial planetary surfaces, the Spacers Guild utilizes a distinct classification system that considers both environmental conditions and size:
A. Habitable Environments
Guild Cities: These massive settlements are designed for populations exceeding 50,000 and offer a wide range of services and infrastructure for residents.
Citadels: These strongholds can support at least 10,000 individuals, offering all necessary amenities for a flourishing community.
Guildhalls: These large-scale complexes accommodate more than 5,000 people and serve as regional hubs for commerce, education, and research. They maintain guild operations by offering a wide range of amenities and services to members.
Havens: The largest habitable zone properties, Havens are fully functioning cities with Earth-like ecosystems, capable of supporting over 1,000 individuals.
Terracourts: These large compounds house up to 500 residents and are designed for longterm habitation, with a focus on technological implementation and environmental stabilization.
Lodges: These mid-sized facilities accommodate up to 100 individuals. They focus on establishing vigorous communities and developing local infrastructure.
Outposts: These are the smallest extraterrestrial properties, designed to support up to 20 individuals in newly discovered habitable environments. They serve as initial settlements and research bases for further exploration and development.
B. Hazardous Environments
Guild Cities: These massive settlements are designed for populations exceeding 50,000 and offer a wide range of services and infrastructure for residents.
Arcologies: The pinnacle of hazardous environment habitation, these massive, self-contained cities can support at least 10,000 individuals within a protective megastructure, offering a complete ecosystem and all necessary amenities for a thriving community.
Guildhalls: These large-scale complexes accommodate more than 5,000 people and serve as hubs for guild operations. They offer a wide range of member services.
Fortresses: These large, dome-enclosed settlements can house up to 1,000 residents. They will offer enhanced protection and self-sufficiency in hostile environments.
Enclaves: These medium-sized installations support up to 200 individuals and are designed for research and exploration in dangerous locales, equipped with advanced life support systems and hazard mitigation technologies.
Bases: These small, fortified structures protect a crew of up to 20 from extreme environmental conditions, serving as research outposts and temporary shelters in hostile environments.
4. Administrative Headquarters
The top leadership of the Spacers Guild, known as the Administration or the Executive Committee, appointed by the Chief Administrator and confirmed by the Guild Council, operates from a designated Headquarters, regardless of its size or location. This central hub serves as the nerve center for Guild operations, coordinating activities across all properties and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Interstellar Commonwealth.
5. Conclusion
The Spacers Guild's real estate classification system reflects our commitment to adaptability, scalability, and the longterm vision of building a thriving Interstellar Commonwealth. As we expand our reach across outer space, from this framework will continue to evolve, accommodating new environments, technologies, circumstances, and the ever-expanding needs of our members.
Whether on Earth, in the depths of space, or on the surface of distant planets, the Spacers Guild properties will serve as pioneer settlements of ingenuity, resilience, and our steadfast pursuit of a brighter future for humanity among the stars.
